Editorial Policy

This page explains exactly how a BharatBriefly story is produced, what is automated, and how to get something corrected. We would rather be plainly understood than sound larger than we are.

1. Where stories come from

We monitor publicly available news feeds from established Indian and international publications. We select stories for significance to an Indian reader — national developments, policy, business, and major world events — and for breadth, including regional reporting that is under-covered in English.

2. How a brief is written

Briefs are written by artificial intelligence. Large language models produce the headline, the summary and the "why it matters" note from the original reporting. This is disclosed on every page rather than buried here.

What the AI is instructed to do: summarise only what the source reports, add no facts of its own, and avoid speculation. What no automated system can fully guarantee: that it never makes a mistake. Which is why the next two sections matter.

3. Attribution

Every brief names the publication that did the reporting and links to the original article, both on the page and in its structured data. We publish summaries, never full copies, and we do not reproduce photographs or substantial extracts of anyone's article.

Publishers: if you would prefer we did not summarise your reporting, write to info@bharatbriefly.news and we will remove your publication from our sources. We do not require you to explain why.

4. Corrections

If a brief misstates what a source reported, tell us at info@bharatbriefly.news with a link to the brief. We correct or remove it, and we do not quietly delete errors that were widely read.

Note the distinction: if the original reporting was wrong, that is for the original publisher to correct. If our summary misrepresents their reporting, that is ours to fix, and we want to hear about it.

5. Independence

No political party, government body, or commercial sponsor has any influence over what we cover or how it is ranked. We accept no payment for placement. We carry no advertising today; if that changes, advertising will be labelled and kept separate from editorial ranking.

6. How stories are ranked

Ranking is automated, based on significance, freshness, and how well a story holds readers' attention. It is not sold, and no story is promoted because someone asked us to.

7. Brief AI

Brief AI answers questions about a story using that story and its source. It is an AI system and can be wrong. Treat its answers as a starting point, and follow the link to the original reporting for anything that matters to you.
