15-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead in Manipur’s Tamei Village

A 15-year-old boy from Takou village was shot dead by unknown armed individuals in Manipur’s Tamei village on Monday while fetching essential food items. Police confirmed the incident occurred around 10:30am, with villagers reporting hearing approximately 20 rounds of gunfire. The boy’s body was later found on the roadside by villagers who went to investigate the gunfire. Police stated the motive behind the attack remains uncertain and no group has claimed responsibility. The killing adds to ongoing tensions between Naga and Kuki communities in Manipur, which have resulted in over 35 deaths since February. In September alone, seven Kuki individuals, including a couple, have been killed in separate attacks by unknown armed individuals.
