Fifteen-year-old Indian Candidate Master Vandan Alankar Sawai defeated five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen during chess.com's weekly Titled Tuesday online blitz tournament. Playing with the white pieces in Delhi, Vandan utilized the Centre Attack of the Giuoco Piano in the 5-minute blitz game to overcome a rating deficit against Carlsen, who holds a 2810 blitz rating. Carlsen blundered on the 25th move by shifting his king to f8, allowing the Indian teenager to win an exchange and force resignation on the 50th move. Vandan finished the event with three wins in four rounds before withdrawing from the 11-round tournament.
