16 Seafarers Killed in Attacks; Saudi Official Condemns Waterway Seizures

The Indian government confirmed that 16 seafarers have been killed in attacks within the Persian Gulf and Black Sea over the past eight months. Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal stated that 4,292 Indian seafarers have been repatriated from the conflict zones, with 139 remaining. During the Sagarmanthan Dialogue, Saudi Ports Authority CEO Suliman bin Khalid Almazroua condemned the seizure of international sealanes as a criminal act that must be stopped. Separately, the government reported that Cochin Shipyard has secured orders to build over 40 ships for clients in the US, Germany, and Norway.
