160 Killed in Nepal Deluge; 133 Indians Among Hundreds Missing

A massive flash flood and mudslide triggered by heavy rains in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river basins have killed at least 160 people along the Nepal-Tibet border. Nepal Police report that 579 individuals remain untraced, including at least 133 Indian nationals and 37 NRIs. The disaster has severely impacted infrastructure, sweeping away hydropower units, security posts, and key pilgrim routes used by those traveling to Kailash Mansarovar. Chinese authorities in Tibet’s Gyirong county have confirmed three deaths and 265 missing persons.
