19 child labourers rescued from way's Yeshwanthpur APMC market

Bengaluru City Police and Labour Department officials rescued 19 child labourers from shops at the APMC Market in Yeshwanthpur. The operation followed a visit by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who interacted with farmers and traders regarding local grievances. Following the CM's directions, five special teams were formed under the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the North Division. Of the rescued children, 13 are from Bihar, two from West Bengal, two from Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Rajasthan and Karnataka. Police have registered cases against shop owners under various child labour laws, while 10 additional children found on the roadside were produced before the Child Welfare Committee.
