A group of 57 Tamil Nadu pilgrims traveling for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra were caught in flash floods in the Rasuwa region of Nepal, leaving 21 people safe at a police outpost and the condition of 36 others unknown. The pilgrims left Chennai on August 24 and were traveling in three buses toward the Nepal border when the disaster struck on Wednesday morning. A tour guide reported that their bus managed to escape an explosion-like accident while another vehicle rolled down into a gorge. The Tamil Nadu government has stepped up rescue efforts, and the army has been informed to conduct searches with military support. The survivors have communicated through a WhatsApp voice message, confirming they are safe and awaiting official assistance.
