3 Assam men arrested for Bengaluru IED blast over personal dispute
· India · Indian Express, The Hindu
Bengaluru police arrested Sajidull Lashkar, Jahidull Hussain Burbhuiyya, and Bhurhan Ahamad Burbhuiyya from Assam in connection with the Tuesday IED blast at an under-construction building in Pulikeshinagar that injured two workers. The three childhood friends, aged 20, 27, and 22, were held after a land dispute, financial dispute, and the recent cancellation of Jahidull's sister's marriage, which police said was due to Allauddin Barbhaij's interference. Jahidull and Allauddin were related, and the officer said Jahidull sought Bhurhan's help to avenge the cancelled marriage. The trio created a WhatsApp group, and Bhurhan allegedly researched online how to create an IED before allegedly disguising it as a torch and delivering it to Allauddin's room.
Why it matters
The arrests bring closure to a blast that injured two workers days before Dasara celebrations, highlighting how personal family disputes can escalate into violent criminal acts using improvised explosives.
