403 Indians Cross Into Nepal From China as Forensics Team Begins DNA Work

The Ministry of External Affairs announced that 403 Indian nationals safely crossed into Nepal from China on Sunday, while 500 others remain in China and safe. A 19-specialized forensics team from India has begun functioning in Kathmandu to assist in analyzing DNA samples and identifying mortal remains at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and Nepal Police's Central Forensic Science Laboratory. Meanwhile, an Indian tunnel rescue team deployed in Nepal retrieved the mortal remains of one person from a tunnel near the Langtang hydroelectric project. Search and rescue operations continue as the death toll from flash floods in Nepal reached 788. The ministry did not provide updated figures on missing Indian nationals.
