ABVP Demands Thorough Probe Into IIT Bombay Student's Death

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has called for a comprehensive investigation into the death of Sahil Wakode, a second-year B.Tech student at IIT Bombay. Wakode was found dead in his hostel room on September 18, shortly after being accused of using a mobile phone to access ChatGPT during an examination. ABVP national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki stated that taking action before the truth is ascertained would be inappropriate. Meanwhile, the student's parents have accused Professor Suryanarayana Doolla of caste-based harassment and have demanded the arrest of both the professor and the institute's director. A formal case involving charges of abetment and caste discrimination has been registered against Doolla.
