Actor Nimrat Kaur has opened up about the trauma of losing her father, Indian Army officer Major Bhupender Singh, in Kashmir in January 1994. Major Singh was abducted by terrorists posing as soldiers while returning from official duty and was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra. Speaking in New Delhi, Kaur recalled how her mother was left in her early thirties with two young daughters to raise. The terrorists made various demands over a seven-day period before the officer was killed. Kaur credited her mother's resilience and dedication to her children for helping the family rebuild their lives.
