Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru on Sunday, following Adani Enterprises emerging as the lowest bidder for the Hebbal-Silk Board tunnel road project. The high-profile meeting took place at the chief minister's residence after Adani visited Sri Ravi Shankar Guruji's ashram in Kanakapura. Neither the chief minister's office nor the Adani Group has disclosed the details of their discussions. Adani Enterprises quoted ₹22,267 crore for the 16.75-km north-south tunnel project, which exceeds the government's estimated cost of ₹17,698 crore. The state cabinet must now decide whether to accept the bid, negotiate a lower price, or retender the project. Preliminary geotechnical surveys along the corridor have commenced despite the contract remaining unawarded.
