Adani Group Pledges Rs 1 Lakh Crore Investment in West Bengal

The Adani Group announced plans to invest more than Rs 1 lakh crore in West Bengal by 2035, marking the largest industrial commitment since the BJP came to power in the state. Industrialist Gautam Adani made the announcement on Thursday in Kolkata following the foundation-laying ceremony for a 2,000-bed multi-speciality hospital in New Town. The planned investments span across ports, logistics, power generation and distribution, roads, bridges, ropeways, green cement, and hyperscale data centres. The announcement follows a meeting in Mumbai between Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. The Adani Group also committed to supporting local cultural initiatives, including the restoration of the Writers' Building and the revitalisation of Kumartuli Ghat.
