Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Invites Mamata Banerjee to Rejoin Congress
· India · The Hindu, NDTV, Times of India
Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has publicly urged Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee to return to the Congress party. Speaking in Kolkata, he argued that Banerjee's political future is at risk without the party's support and suggested she shed the current 'baggage' within her own organisation. Chowdhury stated that Congress is prepared to accept her leadership in West Bengal to consolidate efforts against the BJP. The Trinamool Congress has recently faced internal fractures, with multiple MPs and MLAs breaking away to form independent factions.
