AI compute provider Nscale is looking for $3.5B in pre-IPO financing

· Business · TechCrunch

British AI infrastructure company Nscale is seeking $3.5 billion in pre-IPO financing as it prepares to go public as early as later this month. The firm is reportedly in talks to sell $1.5 billion in convertible notes to a group of investors alongside an additional $2 billion in financing from Nvidia. Nvidia previously participated in Nscale's $1.1 billion Series B funding round in March, which was led by investment fund Aker. The company recently signed a large compute deal with Anthropic worth approximately $45 billion. Following that agreement, Nscale has told potential investors it projects approximately $103 billion in revenue based on signed customer leases.

Why it matters

The substantial financing push underscores the immense capital required to scale AI infrastructure amid surging enterprise demand. The outcome will test investor appetite for heavily valued compute providers entering public markets.
