AIDSO Calls for Independent Review of UGC‑NET Question‑Paper Errors

· India · The Hindu, Hindustan Times, Indian Express

AIDSO, the Mysuru district committee of the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation, has urged the authorities to launch an independent inquiry after the National Testing Agency announced re‑examinations for English, Commerce and Sociology in the UGC‑NET exam. The re‑examinations were ordered almost seven weeks after the original test and followed complaints of factual inaccuracies, incorrect translations, typographical errors, wrong book titles and repeated questions on the papers. AIDSO says that re‑examination alone will not compensate the stress, financial losses and time wasted by thousands of aspiring candidates. The organisation demands that the NTA be dismantled, that accountability be enforced for those responsible, and that the next re‑examination be conducted with transparency and care.

Why it matters

Thousands of students, research scholars and aspirants who sit UGC‑NET exams will face prolonged uncertainty, loss of money and disrupted study plans if the issues are not addressed properly.
