Days before his October 31 retirement, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh wrote to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh requesting the government to maintain the Indian Air Force's control over a 40-acre sports complex in New Delhi. The facility, located within the Race Course Air Force Station, includes a golf course, swimming pool, and other recreational infrastructure. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has been reclaiming land in the area, leading to the closure of the complex and the cancellation of the air chief's farewell event. The station serves as a critical support hub for Air Headquarters and over 5,000 personnel. The defence ministry has not commented on the matter.
