AIR raises $50M to help companies vet the skills and add-ons AI agents use

· Technology · TechCrunch

AI security startup AIR has launched out of stealth with $50 million raised across two seed rounds led by Sequoia and Greenoaks. Founded by Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, the company provides a platform that discovers AI agents running inside corporate networks and monitors their connected skills, plugins, and MCP servers. The software intercepts and blocks agents from interacting with external sources or software that fail security criteria. The platform also includes a marketplace of vetted add-ons for enterprise AI systems.

Why it matters

As enterprises increasingly deploy autonomous AI agents across databases and enterprise software, the startup aims to mitigate security vulnerabilities arising from unvetted plugins and poisoned external content.
