Ajit Agarkar has informed the BCCI that he does not intend to continue as the chairman of the senior selection committee. The former India all-rounder's current contract is scheduled to conclude on October 4. During the 95th Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, BCCI member units authorized office-bearers to manage the transition and search for a successor. The board is also currently processing a large volume of applications to fill all five positions on the junior selection committee within the next 15 days. Additionally, the BCCI is assessing the performance of the newly appointed short-term fielding coach, Subhadeep Ghosh.
