Amazon has updated its Echo Studio smart speaker to include an integrated 13MP camera, allowing for remote home monitoring and real-time AI assistance. The new model retains the audio specifications of the original, including three full-range drivers and support for Dolby Atmos. Users can interact with the camera to identify objects for reordering or to receive help with tasks through the Alexa+ generative AI chatbot. Privacy features include a physical button to disable the microphone and camera, alongside a visual LED indicator for active streaming. The standard Echo Studio without a camera remains available for purchase.
