Amazon and Flipkart Revise Seller Fees Before Festive Season
· Business · Economic Times, Times of India, NDTV
Amazon India and Flipkart have updated their fee and penalty structures for sellers ahead of the upcoming festival shopping season. Amazon India changed its order cancellation fee calculation for Easy Ship and Self Ship services effective August 17, 2026, shifting from category-based charges to a percentage of the order value ranging from 2% to 10%. Flipkart introduced a three-tier penalty system for order fulfillment lapses starting August 23, 2026. Sellers report that these revisions increase the financial burden on small and medium enterprises already operating on thin margins.
Why it matters
These fee hikes directly increase operational costs for small and medium-sized Indian businesses selling on major e-commerce platforms during the peak festive sales period.
