Amazon Replaces Fire Line With New Alexa Tablets Starting at $500

Amazon is completely replacing its popular Fire tablet family with a new lineup of Alexa-branded tablets, led by the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro starting at $499. The 12-inch flagship features a 4-nanometer 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, quad Dolby Atmos speakers, and a 120Hz display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. For $549, buyers can opt for a premium variant featuring a texturized nanomatte screen designed to reduce glare and mimic paper. The devices offer up to 16 hours of battery life and deep integration with the Alexa assistant. Head of Devices Panay stated that the new tablets represent 2.5 years of engineering work focused on premium hardware and software experiences.
