Ambala's Rs 700 Crore 1857 Memorial Awaits PM Modi's Inauguration

A grand memorial dedicated to the 1857 uprising in Ambala Cantonment is complete and awaiting its opening by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Spread across 22 acres along the Ambala-Delhi GT Road, the Azadi Ki Pehli Ladai Ka Shaheed Smarak has cost Rs 700 crore to construct. State Energy Minister Anil Vij spearheaded the project, which the Haryana government describes as Asia's largest martyrs' memorial of its kind. The complex features immersive galleries, battle reenactment zones, a water-and-light presentation, and a 210-foot national flag.
