· India · Times of India, The Hindu
Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Saturday that the full implementation of India's new criminal laws will enable cases to be resolved within three years from filing an FIR to the Supreme Court. Speaking at the 'Gopalak Sammelan' at the BHEL Dussehra Ground in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Shah highlighted that the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam came into effect on July 1, 2024. He noted that the legislation incorporates modern forensic science and addresses women's safety, mob lynching, and terrorism. At the same event, the foundation stone was laid for a Rs 255-crore milk processing plant in Ujjain.
