The meetings will take place in Siliguri, a town that borders Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Shah follows a Sunday meeting of the Southern Zonal Council in Mahabalipuram, where chiefs of southern states and UTs were present. West Bengal officials, including police chief Siddharth Nath Gupta, have prepared a 100‑day update and an exhibition on three new criminal laws enacted after the BJP Central government. The SSS and BSF will provide security updates and their chiefs will be present, while Shah will launch foundation stones for new security projects and inaugurate the criminal‑law exhibition.
Why it matters
The meetings aim to strengthen coordination between the SSB, BSF and West Bengal police on two key border stretches, affecting local security, trade and cross‑border movements.
