Amritsar Police Recover 690-Gram IED, Foiling Terror Plot

Amritsar Rural Police recovered a 690-gram improvised explosive device along with an electronic detonator, battery, timer, and iron box during the night of August 15 and 16. The recovery occurred in the jurisdiction of the Gaggomahal police post after Assistant Sub-Inspector Kulbir Singh identified a suspicious wax-wrapped packet while on patrol. The Bomb Disposal Squad safely destroyed the explosive material following established security protocols. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated the device was intended to target a police establishment. A case has been registered at the Ramdas police station under the Explosive Substances Act, and investigations are currently underway.
