Amul halts milk supply to 5,500 Vadodara anganwadi kids

Amul stopped supplying milk pouches to 400 anganwadis in Vadodara on September 17, leaving 5,500 children without their daily 100 ml milk five days a week. The disruption stems from an exhausted credit balance with Amul due to rising milk prices, according to ICDS District Programme Officer Hiral Thakore. She said Amul coordinators delayed bill submissions, leaving ICDS no time to process payments. The VMC civic body claims bills are cleared whenever received. The milk distribution operates under Gujarat’s Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana programme.
