Police in Vijayawada have arrested a butcher named Shafi and an accomplice for the alleged murder of a woman named Kalyani following a financial dispute. According to investigators, the victim was taken to the suspect's house in Bhavanipuram on September 17, 2026, where her throat was slit after a quarrel over money. The suspect allegedly cut the body into nine pieces and disposed of the remains in the Cooling Canal in the Gollapudi area of Ibrahimpatnam. The crime came to light after relatives identified a tattoo on an unidentified body circulated on social media by police. Investigators have detained Shafi and his employee Guruvulu while they probe the exact motive and transportation methods used.
