Andhra Pradesh Prepares for Local Body Elections

The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has initiated preparations for the second ordinary elections to Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies. State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha ordered officials to prepare and publish photo electoral rolls following the reorganization of the state's 13 Zilla Praja Parishads into 28. The five-year terms of the existing local bodies are set to expire on September 23 and 24, 2026. Electoral rolls used for Gram Panchayats will be adopted for the upcoming process, with final rolls scheduled for public display on September 11.
