India's Ankush Panghal advanced to the men’s 80kg boxing final at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after defeating Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinboev 4-1 on points. The victory guarantees the Games debutant at least a silver medal following his quarterfinal win over Tajikistan’s Nekruz Salimov. Panghal will face South Korea’s Kim Minseong in the gold-medal match on October 2. Hailing from Bherian village in Hisar, the boxer previously won gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Meanwhile, Parveen Hooda also reached the women’s 65kg final after defeating China’s Li Shu.
