Anshul Kamboj Shines with Relentless Spell Against New Zealand
· Sports · Times of India, NDTV Sports
Anshul Kamboj delivered an incisive fast-bowling performance during the ODI series opener against New Zealand in Auckland. The Haryana seamer maintained relentless lengths and utilized the wobble seam effectively to trouble the hosts' batting lineup. His opening spell left New Zealand struggling before he returned to dismiss Mitchell Santner and Nathan Smith in consecutive overs. Teammates Gurnoor Brar and Arshdeep Singh supported him from the other end to restrict the opposition total. The performance followed rigorous net sessions in Auckland where Kamboj bowled extensively to senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Why it matters
The breakthrough performance strengthens India's pace bowling depth and validates the team management's backing of Kamboj in international cricket.
