The company is convening various wisdom tradition circles to explore how autonomous systems can make moral decisions. Anthropic aims to move beyond a simple list of prohibitions by developing a guiding set of principles, internally referred to as a 'Soul Doc'. The monk participated in closed-door discussions alongside theologians and mental-health professionals to help shape the model's development. The company seeks to define not just what Claude should do, but the type of entity it should become.
