AP Clears Rs 730 Crore Quantum-AI University in Amaravati, Classes Begin September 2026

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a Rs 730.7 crore Quantum and AI university campus in Amaravati, described as the first of its kind in India. The 8.5-acre campus will be set up by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), with the project fully funded through grant-in-aid from MeitY over five years. Academic and advanced technology skill-development programmes are scheduled to begin in September 2026 from a temporary facility at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur, while the permanent Amaravati campus is under development.
