Apple Agrees to Modify App Tracking Transparency in Germany
· Technology · MacRumors, Engadget
Apple has reached an agreement with German competition regulators to adjust its App Tracking Transparency feature. The company will remove potentially discouraging symbols and wording from the consent prompts shown to users. Developers will now have more flexibility to explain the role of personalized advertising in their business models. Additionally, Apple will allow companies to combine these consent requests with those required by data protection laws. These changes will be implemented within four months and will remain in effect for seven years.
Why it matters
The decision provides app developers with greater control over how they request user consent for tracking, potentially easing revenue pressures caused by the privacy feature.
