Apple Music Select Now Included with iCloud+ Subscriptions Globally

· Technology · Billboard, Gadgets360

Apple has expanded access to Apple Music Select, a limited version of its music streaming service, to iCloud+ subscribers in over 100 countries, including India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Starting this month, users paying for iCloud+ (starting at about ₹100 per year) gain free access to Apple Music Select, which includes curated playlists, region-specific stations, and ad-free listening. The move aims to attract more paying subscribers in emerging markets by offering a taste of Apple Music’s full service. iCloud+ subscribers also gain access to Apple Arcade and Apple TV. Apple plans to introduce labels for AI-generated music on Apple Music later this year. The initiative is backed by industry figures like Denis Ladegaillerie of Believe, who sees it as a way to boost local digital music ecosystems.

Why it matters

Indian consumers with iCloud+ subscriptions can now explore Apple Music Select for free, potentially increasing engagement with Apple’s ecosystem. Musicians and local artists may benefit from broader exposure through region-specific programming. The inclusion of Apple Music Select could also drive higher adoption of iCloud+ services, benefiting Apple’s revenue streams. Later this year, Apple’s introduction of AI-generated music labels may further influence how users interact with the platform.
