The platform currently supports compatible transactions via iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, with Mac support anticipated shortly. Initial availability is restricted to credit cards issued by Axis Bank across Visa and Mastercard networks. The launch introduces Apple's native digital wallet ecosystem into a market heavily saturated by UPI-based applications. Apple first debuted the contactless payment service globally in the United States in September 2014.
