Apple Rumored to Launch Significantly Lighter MacBook Pro With OLED Displays

Apple is preparing to release new MacBook Pro models featuring OLED displays in October or November 2026, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The upcoming laptops are rumored to be significantly lighter than existing models due to a reengineered interior that miniaturizes parts and rearranges internal components. Current MacBook Pro models weigh up to 4.7 pounds, compared to the MacBook Air at 3.3 pounds and the MacBook Neo at 2.7 pounds. The new devices are also rumored to feature a Dynamic Island instead of a notch and are currently being tested with macOS 27.2 beta software. These higher-end models are expected to be positioned above the current MacBook Pro lineup at a higher price point.
