· Technology · Engadget, Economic Times

Apple has introduced new business terms for applications distributed in the European Union, effective October 1. The company is replacing its Core Technology Fee with a new Core Technology Commission applied to in-app purchases. Developers participating in specific programs, such as the App Store Small Business Program, will be eligible for discounted rates. For the majority of developers using Apple's in-app purchase technology, the commission will be 15 percent, while those outside these programs will face a 26 percent fee. Apps using alternative payment tools will be charged 20 percent, and those linking out for payments will be charged 15 percent.
