APUTF Ends Hunger Strike After Chief Minister Assurance on TET

The Andhra Pradesh United Teachers Federation ended its indefinite hunger strike at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada after receiving an assurance from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The federation launched the fast on Friday to demand that in-service teachers be exempted from the mandatory TET requirement. Chief Minister Naidu assured teachers that it is the government's responsibility to ensure that all teachers appearing for the examination are able to pass. Union leaders expressed disappointment that teachers faced anxiety and uncertainty on Teachers’ Day. They also urged the government to address restructuring processes, fill vacant teaching posts, and provide required staffing in schools.
