· Entertainment · Indian Express, Times of India
Composer AR Rahman revealed at a promotional event in Chennai on Tuesday that a fan named Sathish sent him an email in 2014 predicting he would score the music for the epic Ramayana. The fan had described a morning dream in which Rahman presented the epic through musical shows across India and the world. Rahman read excerpts from the decade-old email to the audience in Chennai. Actor Yash, who plays Ravana in the film, also spoke at the event and recalled how listening to Rahman's Tamil songs inspired him to learn the language. Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus, with music co-composed by Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
