Archer Ganesh Mani Ratnam Reflects on Asian Games Gold and Bronze

Andhra Pradesh archer Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru secured a gold medal in the men’s compound team event and an individual bronze at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on September 30 and October 1, 2026. In the team final, Ganesh, Sahil Rajesh Jadhav, and Kushal Dalal overcame a deficit to defeat China 238-237 after shooting a perfect 60 in the final end. The following day, the 20-year-old claimed the individual bronze by beating Vietnam’s Cong Duc Dang 149-144, hitting the 10-ring in 14 of his 15 arrows. Hailing from Naidupeta near Nellore, Ganesh started his sports journey with karate before transitioning to archery under his first coach, Shivashankar. He currently trains under Kamal Kishore in Sonipat and pursues a BCA Data Science degree at SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
