Arvind Kejriwal Challenges BJP to Joint School Inspection
· India · India Today, Moneycontrol
Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has challenged the BJP to a joint inspection of 1,000 government schools each in Punjab and Gujarat. Kejriwal proposed that media outlets cover the exercise to verify competing claims about the quality of education in the two states. He alleged that the BJP has been using doctored, AI-generated videos to defame Punjab's schools while failing to improve the education system in Gujarat, where the party has held power for 30 years. Kejriwal claimed that his government has significantly improved 19,200 schools in Punjab since taking office in 2022. The former Delhi Chief Minister stated that work is ongoing to upgrade the remaining 500 schools in the state.
Why it matters
The challenge escalates the political rivalry between the AAP and BJP over state-level governance and public service delivery, specifically in the education sector.
