AWS Cannot Restore Bahrain and UAE Cloud Facilities After Drone Strikes

Amazon Web Services announced it is unable to restore access to cloud-computing facilities in Bahrain and parts of the UAE, marking its first public update since April. In March, two Amazon data centers in the UAE were directly struck by drones, while a facility in Bahrain sustained damage from a nearby strike. AWS stated that the damage at multiple Bahrain-based sites exceeded what its services are designed to withstand, permanently cutting off access to resources hosted exclusively in that region. The company is similarly unable to recover data stored in one availability zone in the UAE while continuing work on two other affected zones. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the March attacks, citing Amazon's support for the US military as the motive.
