Ayush Badoni Joins Kohli and Gambhir with Back-to-Back Double Hundreds
· Sports · Times of India, NDTV Sports
Delhi captain and batting all-rounder Ayush Badoni scored an unbeaten 210 against Jharkhand in their Ranji Trophy Group C encounter in Delhi. The knock follows his 217 against Gujarat earlier in the month, making him the 21st Indian batter to hit consecutive first-class double centuries. Badoni joined Delhi greats Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir in achieving the milestone. Resuming at 181 for five, Badoni and Sumit Mathur shared an unbroken 334-run partnership to push Delhi's total to 515 before declaration. Jharkhand reached 131 for four by stumps on Day 2 in reply.
Why it matters
The feat highlights Badoni's growing stature in domestic red-ball cricket and places him alongside established international stars in Delhi's cricketing history.
