Mohammad Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national accused of stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence in January 2025, has filed an application in a Mumbai court to plead guilty. The accused, who is currently in judicial custody, requested leniency through his lawyer during the hearing on Friday. The court has directed the prosecution to submit a reply and adjourned the matter until September 11. Islam faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for robbery with a deadly weapon, house trespass, and violations of the Foreigners Act.
