Trade bodies in Bengaluru have warned that the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike will severely impact financial predictability and business continuity during a critical month-end period. The United Forum of Bank Unions called the strike from September 28 to 30 to demand a five-day banking week. The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry noted that the disruption would affect MSMEs relying on timely salary disbursements and statutory payments. While public sector and regional rural banks will remain operational on Sunday, September 27, trade representatives cautioned that practical delays could extend up to five days.
Why it matters
The strike threatens cash flows, salary payments, and working capital for micro, small, and medium enterprises during the half-year financial closing.
