According to police, three youths identified as Abdullah, Nitish Kumar Rai, and Vikas Kumar confronted the victim and her two friends, abused them, and forced a cash transfer of 1,500 rupees before letting them go. Police have filed charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act while conducting raids to arrest the accused. Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized the state government over law and order following this incident and similar recent reports in Jamui and Samastipur.
