Bengaluru Bans Two-Wheelers on Airport Road Elevated Corridor Stretch

Bengaluru Traffic Police will ban two-wheelers on the flyover stretch from Sanjeevininagar Cross near Hebbal to Vidyashilpa Junction near Yelahanka starting September 4, citing a spike in fatal accidents along the corridor. BTP data shows the stretch recorded 15 accidents in the last 19 months, with fatal accidents rising since 2015 — more than ten police stations in the city registered fewer fatal accidents than this corridor. The Airport flyover will remain open to two-wheelers, and similar restrictions will kick in on the Electronics City flyover from September 11. Vehicle-category restrictions will also apply to the B.G.S. Flyover on Mysore Road, the Peenya Elevated Corridor, and the Double Decker Flyover between Silk Board and Ragigudda.
