Bengaluru cab driver arrested for killing seven family members near Nandi Hills
· India · Indian Express, Times of India
Police recovered the body of seven-year-old Puneeth from the foothills of Nandi Hills and launched a search for the remaining six bodies. The accused, 52-year-old Indushekar alias Shekhar, a cab driver from Bengaluru's Rajajinagar, killed his wife Sunitha, her mother Roopavati, her brothers Shivakumar and Shankar, their wives Divya and Nalini, and Shivakumar's son. Shekhar allegedly called each family member to his one-room kitchen house individually over two days and killed them with a grinding stone. The case came to light after Nalini's mother filed a missing-person complaint, which led police to suspect Shekhar's involvement.
Why it matters
The families of the seven victims are grieving, and the investigation will determine whether persistent spousal disputes over Sunitha's association with her parental family drove the killings. Police continue searching for the six missing bodies to complete the forensic record.
