Bengaluru Court Blocks Defamatory Videos Against Siddaramaiah

A Bengaluru civil court has issued an ex-parte temporary injunction restraining 42 media houses and tech platforms from circulating two videos containing allegedly defamatory remarks about former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The court ordered YouTube, Yahoo, Google, and Facebook to block specific URLs associated with the videos, which were titled “Karnataka Honey Trap Nexus Part-1” and “Live: Biggest CD Blast in Karnataka Politics?”. In his suit, Mr. Siddaramaiah categorically denied the allegations, which included claims about a 2011 incident and a purported honey-trap network. The court's order prevents the dissemination of these videos or any substantially identical versions across any medium.
